Tim Cartwright

Tim moved to Cornwall at the age of 4 and grew up in Newlyn (still one of his favourite places). His first performance was at the age of 16 as a walk-on in BBC’s Poldark in the 1970s. Tim has always loved performing and has involved himself in a number of community productions, working with local groups and has worked with local community arts organisations on a range of projects such as the Golowan ‘Christmazy Grottos’ and the Golowan (midsummer)and Montol (midwinter) festivals in Penzance.
A few years ago, he took the decision to become a full-time performer and get some formal training. He graduated in 2020 with a BA (Hons) degree in Theatre & Performance after studying at the Academy of Music and Theatre Arts, Falmouth University. He considers his decision to go to Falmouth University as one of the best decisions he’s ever made.
He continues to fill his time performing in films including Cornish language films and on stage as well as some story-telling and for the last 3 years he has spent some of each summer performing a Punch & Judy show at Osborne House on the Isle of Wight.
